of Multi-dimensional Mobile Information Network
MUMIN
Research Society
of Multidimensional Mobile Information Network (MUMIN) is one of research
groups of the Engineering Science Society of IEICE. The main purpose of MUMIN
is to organize International Symposium on Multi-dimensional Mobile Communications (MDMC).
Former and Present Chairman of MUMIN
- 1996-1997: Prof. Shoji Shinoda, Chuo University,
Japan
- 1997-1998: Prof. Takeshi Hattori, Sophia University, Japan
- 1998-Present: Prof. Mitsutoshi Hatori, National Institute of Informatics, Japan
Outline of MDMC:
Mobile information networks are called upon to be multifarious in multi-dimensions to accommodate the personalization and diversification of who (users), what
(terminal equipment and multimedia), when (time), where (location and
distance), and how (information quality and quantity) in information
network services. Multidisciplinary and comprehensive approaches including
fundamental research are required to make the future mobile information
networks function effectively and, as a result, to provide satisfaction to the
end users. Such approaches should be made as transmission system, network
architectures and control methods, evaluation and control of teletraffic, and
security among other issues. MDMC is aimed at timely dissemination of research
in these areas. Possible topics include, but are not limited to:
- network theory and mobile communication
- network control in cellular systems
- channel assignment methods
- evaluation and control of teletraffic in cellular
systems
- wireless multimedia system
- wireless access protocols
- mobile computing
- internetworking of wired and wireless networks
- mobile/wireless internet
- location-dependent applications
- wireless QoS
- virtual home environment
- mobile agents
- security and privacy of mobile/wireless systems
- multi-hop wireless networks
- ad hoc networks
